Tom Sawyer Software Releases Tom Sawyer Perspectives, Version 6.1, Java Edition
Berkeley, CA (PRWEB) May 14, 2014 -- Tom Sawyer Software, the premier provider of software for building high-performance data relationship visualization and analysis applications, announces the release of Tom Sawyer Perspectives, Version 6.1, Java Edition.
This release now provides protection against cross-site request forgery (CSRF), also referred to as a one-click attack or session riding. Customers who do not yet have CSRF protection can now download this release to protect Tom Sawyer Perspectives web components from attacks. These components include the Tom Sawyer Perspectives Previewer and all web application tutorials. For those who are integrating Tom Sawyer Perspectives into an application that already provides CSRF security, they can now ensure that Tom Sawyer Perspectives' components will also be integrated into their solution with CSRF protection.
Brendan Madden, Chief Executive Officer of Tom Sawyer Software, said, "In this release, we have focused on important security needs for the web applications of our larger customers. We are also continuing steady work to improve product quality and performance, and have been implementing many new features and fixes to ensure a superior experience for our customers."
This release also introduces a new patent-pending approach to the Overview panel that dynamically resizes to match the drawing bounds. This enables the Overview panel to take the minimum space required at all times to represent the drawing in the main canvas. This minimum size Overview panel reduces the likelihood that the Overview panel covers an important part of the drawing in the main canvas.
Tom Sawyer Perspectives, Version 6.1, includes new preferences for greater flexibility and choice for users. These preferences include the ability to adjust hover delay time, and settings to configure the link navigation speed. There is also a new expanded node interaction preference that makes it easier to perform drilldown actions and to perform collapse and expand operations.
In addition, this new product release includes improvements to the Neo4j integrator, an added Cineasts movies and actors example, and improved support for SPARQL 1.1 in the RDF integrator.
Further updates include improved example applications, Swing rendering performance improvements, refined electrical one-line diagram layout, and Eclipse SWT Bridge compatibility with JDK 7 on Apple OS X. All areas of the documentation have also been improved.
