Austin, Texas (PRWEB) May 08, 2014 -- Eduvant CEO Ben Glazer presented on infrastructural and political challenges encountered while implementing data visualization and analysis tools, highlighting examples related to blended learning, response to intervention, and large scale data integrations.
Mr. Glazer joined speakers from The University of Texas, Purdue University, the Center for Education Policy Research, Civitas Learning, and other educational and research organizations at the Invitational Summit of Educational Data Visualization to discuss ways in which data visualization can inform teaching, learning and decision-making throughout all functions and levels on campus. The Summit was hosted by The University of Texas College of Education in Austin, Texas.
One case study Mr. Glazer discussed referenced the work performed by Eduvant for KIPP Chicago. The Eduvant team integrated data from traditional data sources within the KIPP Chicago region, as well as student-generated data originating within the schools’ blended learning tools. Eduvant’s work resulted in consolidated data from disparate sources, data visualizations that communicate student progress, and the delivery of insights to significant changes in academic and behavioral patterns. Combined, these features help KIPP educators personalize instruction for each student.
Eduvant provides easy-to-use, web-based interfaces that break down complex data analyses into easy-to-understand, actionable insights. The company’s focus on design and experience with data integration, statistical analysis, and visualization tools has aided numerous districts and charter management organizations in support of their missions to inform instruction, personalization, and student support activities through the use of data.
Mr. Glazer worked as the Director of Knowledge Management in the San Francisco Unified School District after earning his MBA at Harvard Business School. He completed the Broad Residency in 2012 and has extensive knowledge and experience in data cultures and data usage in K12 settings. He and co-founder Stuart Frye participated in the Imagine K12 edtech startup incubator as they started Eduvant.
