myMD, a New York City-based technology start-up, makes its debut this week at the premier technology conference, TechCrunch Disrupt. myMD aims to help consumers and their doctors manage patient healthcare through integrating mobile and wearable technologies.
myMD’s mobile app enables user-friendly secure video appointments between consumers and their doctors. A dedicated tablet device is provided to each participating physician to conduct the appointments. The platform is on track to be operational with its network of medical practices by the end of May.
“Our goal is to build a secure channel of communication between doctors and patients, which they can use to proactively manage the patient’s health. We are excited by the enthusiasm we have seen from both health consumers and physicians,” says Himakara Pieris, Founder and CEO of myMD.
For consumers, the myMD app provides an easy way to do a follow-up appointment or get a quick opinion from their doctor. For physicians, myMD provides an option to monetize their off-site consultation and have quality yet time-efficient interactions with their patients.
myMD aims to improve patient – physician interactions using mobile and wearable technology. The company is based out of NYU Poly Technology Incubator in DUMBO, Brooklyn. To find out more about myMD, please visit: http://www.mymdapp.com.
