Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) May 07, 2014

Ernst & Young announced this week that PhysAssist Scribes’ President and CEO Alex Geesbreght has been named a finalist for the 2014 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year for his company’s founding role in the medical scribe services industry. This prestigious award program recognizes entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. PhysAssist Scribes will compete against other entrepreneur-led companies in the Southwest North area, which includes Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas.

“It’s truly an honor to be recognized by Ernst & Young, and to be nominated alongside so many inspiring entrepreneurs,” said Geesbreght. “It’s a tribute to the entire PhysAssist team, whose dedication has made PhysAssist the most trusted provider for quality medical scribe services.”

Medical scribes work side-by-side with emergency room physicians throughout their shift and document the entire patient encounter, in real-time. Scribes document the patient encounter into an electronic medial record (EMR) so the doctor can spend his or her time caring for the patient. PhysAssist’s services improve the workflow of busy Emergency Rooms and clinics, increase patient throughput and drive efficiency and productivity for physician groups and hospitals.

Geesbreght’s father, John, an emergency room physician, started PhysAssist in 1995 simply as a value-add to his doctors and hospitals. In 2005, Alex became President and led the company through a period of unprecedented growth. PhysAssist has implemented over 140 scribe programs in 18 states and has helped thousands of busy physicians by removing the burden that electronic medical records have placed on healthcare providers.

“Our growth, although dramatic, has been measured and purposeful,” said Geesbreght. “Our outstanding record of client retention and satisfaction says more about our relative place in the industry than I ever could. Because of the value our scribe services bring, all of our clients have expanded their scribe programs. In fact, almost two decades later, we are still the contracted scribe provider where it all began, at our very first hospital in Fort Worth.”

Award recipients will be announced at a gala on June 21, 2014 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
