Ready-to-go Licaps capsules provide our customers with high-quality, on-trend offerings for the growing supplement market.

Bornem, Belgium and Morristown, N.J. (PRWEB) May 07, 2014

Seeking natural ways to take control of their health, consumers are increasingly turning to nutritionals to help promote healthy living and aging. To help customers meet this growing demand for high-quality, specialized dietary supplements, Capsugel announced today at Vitafoods Europe 2014 that a new range of its Licaps® liquid-filled hard capsules are now available for 10 “ready-to-go” finished-dosage nutritional products. Containing scientifically-backed, high-quality supplement compounds, the ingredients in the pre-filled Licaps capsule line address key consumer health areas, including heart health, immune health, energy and weight management, digestive health and eye health.

“The advent of our ready-to-go Licaps capsules further demonstrates the value of Capsugel’s patient-centric approach to innovation,” said Jean-Philippe Talmon, head of Capsugel’s Dosage Form Solutions business in EMEA. “Ready-to-go Licaps capsules provide our customers with high-quality, on-trend offerings for the growing supplement market. This novel product line has been developed with the European regulatory environment in mind and can also be tailored to meet specifications for countries outside the European Union.”

A 2013 Euromonitor report revealed that vitamins and supplements captured 43 percent of the US$203 billion global consumer health market. Sales of vitamins and supplements in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, alone, represented about 19 percent of that global growth, with emerging market countries like Russia, Turkey and South Africa driving regional dynamics.

Licaps capsules are two-piece hard capsules specially designed for secure containment of liquids and semi-solids. Using Capsugel’s proprietary Fusion Technology™ – a series of cutting-edge advancements in capsule filling, sealing and final product inspection – Licaps capsules deliver high protection for nutritional ingredients. The ready-to-go Licaps capsule products include innovative technologies dedicated to offering multi-phase capsules that may be used to develop products with targeted-release profiles. For example, some ready-to-go Licaps capsule products use DUOCAPS™ “2-in-1” capsule-in-capsule technology and others use liquid beadlets in capsules as novel ways to combine ingredients.

Market surveys consistently demonstrate that Licaps capsules are preferred by consumers over other oral dosage forms and help mask unpleasant tastes and odors of ingredients. Further, Licaps capsules meet vegetarian and clean-labeling preferences, are absent of gluten and other allergens, and are Kosher and Halal certified.

“We take pride in helping customers create value by meeting and exceeding consumer demands,” said Talmon. “In addition to meeting the highest product quality and integrity requirements, the ready-to-go Licaps capsule product line is fully customizable. With a variety of color and print options, these capsules give our customers the ability to create differentiated offerings and strong brand recognition, while enabling an ideal way to provide a simple line extension option to complement current offerings.”
