“One of the greatest assets with BIM is having all the information in one place," said Stan Graveline, Vice President of Technical Services, Sika.

Sika Corporation, the worldwide market leader in thermoplastic roofing and waterproofing membranes, announced today that new Building Information Modeling (BIM) design files for Sarnafil roofing systems are available online and ready to download now.
The three files currently offered are:
1. Sarnafil roofing systems – including all attachment methods for both mechanically attached and adhered roofing systems.
2. Sarnafil roofing details – including the most common details found on a non-residential building.
3. Wall air barrier to roof tie-in details – demonstrating how to tie-in a Sarnafil roofing system with a common wall air barrier typically found in a complete building envelope project.
“One of the greatest assets with BIM is having all the information in one place. No longer will the 3-D model be located in one application and the product information in another. Now, members of the building team can simply click on a product listing and review all of its properties,” said Stan Graveline, Vice President of Technical Services, Sika. ”Product warranty information can also be stored in the BIM design file, making it easy to find if needed in the future.”
The Sarnafil roofing system BIM files allow building teams to customize a building model with the exact Sarnafil roofing system build-up that is specified for a job. Product details for roof system components such as insulation, vapor barriers and membranes are available. When a roof needs to be replaced decades from now and hard-copy product information is no longer available, the BIM file can be opened and everything anyone needs to know about products used in the roofing system will be readily accessible.
