The Catalent Applied Drug Delivery Institute today announced that it will host “An Innovation Showcase: Advanced Drug Delivery Approaches for Small and Large Molecules”, on June 12th, 2014, at the 3M Innovation Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. World-leading experts on drug development and delivery from across industry, including 3M, Catalent Pharma Solutions, Hovione, BASF, Agere Pharmaceuticals, Lipp Life Sciences and Xhale, will share the most effective and innovative approaches and technologies for improving drug bioavailability, insights on patient needs, and design of drugs/medical systems to deliver better outcomes.

“Attendees will gain expert insights to help overcome the complex drug delivery challenges that they face, as well as an understanding of the value of closer collaboration between industry and academia,” commented Terry Robinson, Executive Director, Catalent Institute. “This event follows a very successful one that the Institute held in March at the Novartis’ global headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, which had strong participation from European pharmaceutical developers and academia and was focused on improving drug bioavailability.”

“Advanced drug delivery is such an exciting topic for the industry right now, and bringing together this collaborative group at the 3M Innovation Center will undoubtedly yield some very interesting discussions,” said Ingrid Blair, Vice President, Transdermal Business, 3M Drug Delivery Systems. “We are proud to be hosting this event at a venue that will set the right tone for all things innovation.”

Established in 2012, the Catalent Applied Drug Delivery Institute employs a multi-tiered approach to accelerate the adoption of advanced drug delivery technologies through industry and academic collaboration, research, education, and the sharing of information.
