Simpson Gumpertz & Heger to Host Seminar at Cooper Union on Campus Planning & Expansion
Waltham, MA (PRWEB) May 07, 2014 -- Simpson Gumpertz & Heger will host a one-day, AIA-accredited educational seminar on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at The Cooper Union, 41 Cooper Square, New York, NY beginning at 8:00 a.m. The seminar will help architects, developers, owner’s representatives, and capital planners in the higher education, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and corporate markets better understand how to tackle challenges of campus expansion and planning as they strive to meet the needs of constituents and stakeholders. Final registration deadline is Thursday, May 15.
The event will include a panel session with executives from industry-leading firms including Faithful + Gould, Sciame, Simpson Gumpertz & Heger, Snøhetta, and Vanderweil Engineers, discussing the future of campus design and the impact of current design trends. The panel discussion will cover the challenges of iconic building design, planning for the virtual/global campus, and strategies for sustainable design.
In addition, there will be a cocktail reception at the historic Cooper Union Foundation Building, in the Peter Cooper Suite, 7 East 7th Street, Penthouse Level, with live music, hors d’oeuvres, and cocktails from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Full-day seminar attendees receive complimentary admission to the reception.
