American Arm of European Company to Connect with Boston Businesses

VARTA Microbattery is eager to connect with even more New England manufacturers and meet their needs.

VARTA Microbattery – a global energy leader for more than one century – has redoubled its efforts in the New England market with the addition of an on-the-ground, seasoned sales executive. The bolstered attention will allow the 127-year-old company to introduce its state-of-the-art, versatile, and environmentally-responsible batteries and other energy products to industrial, medical, and mobile communications businesses in the Boston and greater New England region.

VARTA Microbattery will continue to connect businesses at the heart of Boston’s economy by providing a slate of premium power and energy products which meet the needs of the most demanding original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Additionally, VARTA will continue to expand its presence in new applications, including the development of long-lasting energy storage systems that can draw power from the sun.

“VARTA Microbattery is eager to connect with even more New England manufacturers and meet their needs,” said William Flanagan, President and CEO of VARTA Microbattery. “We are constantly looking for the next innovation that will lend itself to solving an issue facing our customers. Our customized power solutions allow customers to focus resources on developing their own technology and products, or simply keep their homes running more efficiently.”

Anchoring the VARTA Microbattery team in Boston is Eric Castrucci, who will serve as Regional Sales Manager, North. Castrucci holds a B.A. and MBA from Boston University and Lesley College, respectively, and will focus on aligning VARTA with OEMs in the New England electronics industry. Previously, Castrucci spent 10 years at 3M’s Electronic Solutions Decision (ESD) in sales and management roles, rising to the position of Eastern Regional Manager. He has also managed Anixter’s Salem, NH branch. Castrucci will be receiving leadership support from VARTA’s Eric Lind, National Sales Manager of OEM and Power Pack Systems (PPS).

VARTA Microbattery has pioneered research and development in the battery industry for over 125 years and remains in the industry’s vanguard. VARTA also designs and manufactures retail batteries and energy solutions for a wide range of markets including medical, automotive, computers, and more.
