Nation’s First CYBERWEST Summit to Explore Risks, Regulations and Technology Surrounding Cyber Threats
PRESCOTT, ARIZONA (PRWEB) May 08, 2014 -- Building a secure future, changing government policy, cyber research trends, and the latest in creating a secure cyber future are just a few of the topics industry, government and academic leaders will discuss May 13-14 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Ariz., as part of the inaugural CYBERWEST.
Hosted by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott, Ariz., Campus in conjunction with the Association for Enterprise Information, Embry-Riddle Worldwide’s CAAL (Center for Aviation and Aerospace Leadership), National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), Arizona Cyber Threat Response Alliance (ACTRA), General Dynamics, and Arizona InfraGard (FBI), the two-day event is open to the public and media.
"This is a great venue for sharing ideas with leaders in government, industry and academia on one of the critical topics facing the U.S. today," said Dr. Jon Haass, director of Cyber Intelligence and Security at Embry-Riddle. "Where are the trained cyber workers of tomorrow and what do they need to know?”
Keynote speakers and presenters will represent national industry and government agencies specializing in cybersecurity. Participants will learn about and discuss technologies and strategies that can help defend systems and data against evolving cyber threats, today and into the future. - Tips on implementing the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework
- Input on emerging cyber research and development efforts
- Information on cyber risk transfer and impacts on capital markets
- Proactive strategies for weathering the "Perfect Cyber Sandstorm"
- Insight into how industry-academia partnerships are filling the need for a highly skilled and growing cyber-workforce
