Government Figures Reveal More Investor and Entrepreneur Visas Granted
London, UK (PRWEB UK) 9 May 2014 -- Government figures released recently show that more visas were granted to investors and entrepreneurs in 2013 over 2012. Official documents provided to E&S Consultancy in London show that in 2013 a total of 1351 visa applications were granted. Whereas the comparable figures for 2012 show that only 1,171 visas were issued.
There is great benefit to the economy from investors and entrepreneurs using the UK as their base of operations. Favourable tax schemes, a booming financial sector, good education prospects for children, free healthcare and a growing market all make Britain an ideal place for migrants to start and grow businesses.
Elshad Huseynov, the founder of E&S Consultancy stated, “In 2013 we witnessed a growth in the number of visas issued over the previous year. Investors and entrepreneurs spend large amounts of money and provide employment for British workers. The government has witnessed the benefit to the country and this can be seen in the official figures.”
These figures are broken up as follows; in 2012 470 investor visas were granted while in 2013 439 were issued. Entrepreneur visas saw a large growth pushing the total number to a new high. In 2012 only 701 entrepreneur visas were granted but in 2013 that number jumped to 912.
The government figures also showed the top 5 countries for both types of visas. In 2013, for the entrepreneur visa, the top 5 countries where applications were made were as follows; Sri Lanka, China, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan. For investor visas, the top 5 countries were Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, USA, China and the Russian Federation.
“The official figures show that the government is committed to increasing the numbers of migrants who come to this country to boost the economy. An area where investors pump a large amount of money is the property sector and this helps local companies build houses and invest in creating new infrastructure,” continued Huseynov.
Huseynov also felt that even though the figures are very positive, the government needed to create an even more conducive atmosphere in the UK so more investors and entrepreneurs choose to come here to start businesses or invest in the economy.
