Announcement: BluesGuitar.com Releases “Country Blues Lick in the Style of Pedal Steel Guitar - Blues Guitar Lesson”
(PRWEB) May 08, 2014 -- The Pedal Steel Guitar is built on legs and is played horizontally. The instrument is outfitted with pedals to bend the strings pitch and it is played with a guitar slide. The Pedal Steel Guitar is a staple in the sound of country music.
“We’re looking at a little country style pedal steel licks, but we are going to imply it in a blues,” says MacLennan. Jon starts off this easy blues guitar lesson by demonstrating how to play this pedal steel lick as follows; 2nd finger on the 8th fret of the 2nd string and bend it up one whole step and hold it and then follow that with the 9th fret of the first string with 4th finger. “Basically we are implying an A7 chord,” says MacLennan, “which is the one chord in this progression.” Next is the Four Chord which Jon demonstrates as; 10th fret of the first string with 4th finger, 10th fret of the 2nd string with 3rd finger and 9th fret of the 3rd string with 2nd finger, picked simultaneously while bending the 3rd string up one whole step. Next is the Five Chord which Jon says is the same as the Four Chord, just played one whole step higher. Jon continues this blues guitar lesson by performing the licks over a backing track so you can see and hear how it’s done. Guitar TAB’s are available for this blues guitar lesson at BluesGuitar.com.
