Work Comp Leader Expands Its Online Portal for Medicare Set-Asides

The merged entity of Progressive Medical and PMSI, a workers’ compensation specialty services company, announced the expansion of its web-based, real-time application, VitalPoint® for Settlement Solutions. This online portal allows for the creation of Medicare Set-Asides (MSAs), facilitates electronic submission to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and enables real-time monitoring of the claim, even post-settlement.

The online creation and submission system is a revolutionary tool to improve the transparency, speed, and accuracy of workers’ compensation and liability settlements. The enhancements allow new users to register in one-step. Plus, users can add additional services to the referral from within VitalPoint, send email directly from the claim view, and auto-populate adjuster contact information. The new features of VitalPoint also give users the ability to upload multiple files in one-step—a huge timesaver when submitting the past two years of medical records and payments. In addition, managers can now view claims assigned to team members for global oversight.

“Managing and mitigating claim exposures associated with the Medicare process is simplified with VitalPoint,” said Jeffrey Gurtcheff, vice president and general manager for the company’s settlement department. “From a secure, password-protected platform, users are able to easily manage the claims settlement process starting with the initial referral for services. The new features improve the portal and complement our total suite of Medicare Secondary Payer compliance offerings.”
