LANXESS Distribution, LANXESS group’s sales and marketing group, will present a broad portfolio of high-quality raw materials for the cosmetics industry at the NYSCC (New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists) Supplier’s Day Show under the slogan “Purity for Beauty”.

LANXESS Distribution offers versatile ingredients for different cosmetic applications from skin and hair care to color cosmetics under the brand names PUROLAN® and Solbrol®. The personal care product range adds value to cosmetic formulations, including dermatologically safe emollients for a perfect skin feel or peptides for silky hair.

“The United States is important for our business because it is the largest beauty and personal care market in the world,” says Michael Bader, Head of Personal Care at LANXESS Distribution in Germany. “As one of the biggest raw materials trade fairs for the cosmetics industry in the United States, NYSCC offers us an excellent platform to meet cosmetics manufacturers and to introduce them to the particular advantages of our cosmetics raw materials.”

The United States beauty and personal care market has tripled in size since 2000 with more than $25 billion in sales, ranking as the top beauty and personal care market worldwide. Moreover, it will continue to grow with a global demand projected at 6.3 percent through 2018 due to the high demand for luxury products and trends catering to the aging population impacting skin, hair and oral care.

“LANXESS Distribution is positioned to serve the fast expanding global beauty and personal care markets,” says Tony Mazzarella, Business Manager at LANXESS Distribution in North America. “We supply both local and global cosmetic producers in the United States with our high quality performance ingredients. And through our technical expertise and customized services, we can help our customers enhance existing products and develop new and innovative formulations.”
PUROLAN® - Purity for Beauty

One of the core product categories in focus are the PUROLAN® isoparaffins. These emollients offer a favourable sensory experience and are especially suitable for cosmetics with superior skin sensation which are particularly valued by consumers.

Highlights at the show include PUROLAN® Glucan. A powerful, 100% natural active based on yeast. Yeast glucan supports the skin structure and the dermal immune system, but requires chemical modification to improve water solubility. Thanks to innovative processes, it can now be easily incorporated into cosmetic formulations as a 5% aqueous dispersion, without chemical modification. As an additional advantage, it comes with a NATRUE certification.

PUROLAN® Glucan is an effective active for skin care, in particular for anti-aging formulations and sun-screen products. In hair care, PUROLAN® Glucan improves tensile strength and gloss.

PUROLAN® PD-LO is a low-odor version of pentylene glycol used in low-odor formulations as a humectant, spreading agent and synergist in combination with preservatives.

“Cosmetic ingredients offered by LANXESS Distribution, like our isoparaffins, are notable for their premium product quality and outstanding level of purity, which is reflected in the PUROLAN® brand name,” said Mr. Bader. “The slogan ‘Purity for Beauty’ marks our commitment to enhance personal beauty with our pure and highly effective cosmetic ingredients.”

Solbrol® - performance for reliable preservation

The Solbrol® range comprises of widely-used cosmetics preservatives, including the proven class of parabens as well as specially designed blends for paraben-free preservation based on organic acids, providing protection against a broad spectrum of microbes.
