Pak Mail Cedar Rapids Celebrates New Location & Military Appreciation Month, May 15-17, 2014

The celebration includes a three day event that features an Open House Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Celebration continues all day Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. complete with hot dog cookout and door prize drawings from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
“After 20 years in our prior location we had not planned on a move,” owner Lee Frederickson said. “But it has been a blessing in disguise. We are happy with our new location, which provides us with the facilities we have needed to handle the ever-increasing freight portion of our business.”
Highlighting the festivities of expanded freight and specialty shipping capabilities, Pak Mail Cedar Rapids is also celebrating Military Appreciation Month. Featuring its ongoing partnership with Cell Phones For Soldiers, Pak Mail Cedar Rapids encourages visitors to bring gently-used cell phones to any Pak Mail location to be donated to this great charity. Monetary donations will also be accepted on behalf of Cell Phones For Soldiers to provide free calling cards to our troops.
“We have always been big supporters of this program,” owner Chris Frederickson said. “It was 46 years ago this week that Lee left for his tour in Vietnam. We had only been engaged two weeks when he left, and in the 16 months he was there we had just two chances for phones calls. Those were a few minutes long when he was in Hong Kong twice on R&R. We know firsthand how precious a call home can be.”
This will be a weekend to remember. Not only is Pak Mail Cedar Rapids celebrating the new location, new shipping capabilities, and its customers, but the store is celebrating our troops by promoting Cell Phones For Soldiers during Military Appreciation Month and Armed Forces Day on May 17th.
