Arena Americas Installs Its Record Breaking Frieze Art Fair NY Venue
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 09, 2014 -- Arena Americas was back on Randall’s Island to install the unique snaking structure and stage for Frieze Art Fair New York, which opens today and runs through Monday, May 12. The Frieze Art Fair is in its third year stateside, originating in London. Arena has worked with Frieze each year to install the massive structure totaling nearly 250,000 square feet and a quarter of a mile in length.
The temporary event space is built by Arena on Randall’s Island to house over 180 contemporary art galleries that are being showcased in the art fair. Arena provided six 50m x 60m (164’ x 197’) clearspan structures attached by triangle-shaped wedges to crate the snake-like design. The tent was installed on a stage made up of 18,000 Bil-Jax flooring pieces.
In 2012, Arena Americas received two Guinness World Records for this project – largest single-unit marquee at 226,795.77 square feet and largest temporary stage at 275,007.44 square feet.
Arena Americas has been in the US since 1966 and supports a variety of events including some of the most prestigious sporting, corporate and private events in the country including NFL Super Bowl, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, as well as PGA and NASCAR events.
