ATA Announces Award Winners and New College of Fellows Inductees, Recognizing Innovators in Telemedicine, mHealth

The American Telemedicine Association (ATA) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2014 ATA Annual Awards. These awards recognize individuals and organizations on the forefront of healthcare technology for their significant contributions to the development of telemedicine. Winners will formally accept their awards at the ATA 2014 Annual Meeting and Trade Show, May 17-20, in Baltimore.

“Recognizing excellence in the field of telemedicine is an important component of ATA’s mandate to identify and honor leaders in healthcare,” said Edward M. Brown MD, President of ATA.

The following awards have been announced:

ATA President’s Award for the Advancement of Telemedicine – Individual

ATA President’s Award for Innovation in Remote Health Care

ATA President’s Award for Health Delivery Quality and Innovation

Winner: Center for Rural Health Innovation: MY Health-e-Schools

ATA Industry Council Award

Winner: Roy Schoenberg, MD, MPH, President and CEO, American Well Systems

Special Interest Group & Chapter Achievement Award

Winner: The ATA Telemental Health SIG

ATA has also elected three members of distinction as new members to the ATA College of Fellows. Election as a Fellow is a high honor that recognizes achievements in telemedicine, services to the general telemedicine community and service to ATA. The new Fellows are:
