New Paint Studios At Ace Designed To Give Consumers A More Style-Inspired, Personal Shopping Experience

This is more than just a makeover of our paint department, this is a whole new way for consumers to shop for paint, with new colors, trusted brands and personalized attention and service.

Ace Hardware stores across Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming are joining Ace retailers nationwide to celebrate the launch of the new Paint Studio at Ace May 14 - May 19. As part of the launch, participating stores will offer Buy One, Get One Free gallons of Clark+Kensington and Valspar Optimus paint on Saturday and Sunday, May 17 and 18 (limit two free gallons).

Launching nationally in over 3,200 locally owned Ace Hardware stores this month, The Paint Studio was designed around the insight that consumers seek a more style-inspired and personal paint shopping experience rather than a traditional trip to the hardware store. The Paint Studio offers consumers a boutique-style experience with exclusive paint collections from Clark+Kensington®and Valspar displayed in unique drawers and on eye-catching racks with bright lighting and tools to make the color selection process simple. Paired with the helpful service and knowledgeable advice customers can expect from Ace associates, The Paint Studio provides a world-class paint experience right in consumers’ neighborhood Ace Hardware stores. Both The Paint Studio and the accompanying nationwide advertising campaign are designed around the fact that color evokes an emotional response and that “Helpful is Beautiful.”

“The Paint Studios at Ace are beautifully designed to provide a boutique feel combined with the helpful service people have come to know and expect when shopping at an Ace store,” said Bill Moore, owner of three Colorado Ace Hardware stores and chairman of the board of the Rocky Mountain Ace Hardware dealer group. “This is more than just a makeover of our paint department, this is a whole new way for consumers to shop for paint, with new colors, trusted brands and personalized attention and service.”

The Paint Studio offers every shopper the opportunity to customize their experience by using an innovative new colorant system that allows paint to be custom tinted to the broadest range of colors available. Similar to the beauty products shopping experience, consumers also have the option to sample Clark+Kensington and Valspar colors before they commit through thousands of mixable color samples.

Both Clark+Kensington and Valspar paints are paint+primer in one and contain no/low VOCs. In 2013, Clark+Kensington’s semi-gloss finish was ranked #1 by a leading consumer magazine in tests of interior paints.
