Metaswitch Forum 2014: Let the Brain Games Begin
New Orleans, Louisiana (PRWEB) May 13, 2014 -- Metaswitch Networks is excited to kick off Metaswitch Forum 2014.
Themed “The Brains of the New Global Network,” Metaswitch Forum continues through May 15 here at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Metaswitch Forum brings together communication service providers, technology vendors and expert speakers from around the world for three days of discussions on innovative products, industry trends and best practices on network transformation, cloud computing and the rise of software telcos.
Here’s what you need to know today:
- The Registration desk opens today at 7:00 a.m. CDT and will remain open until 6:00 p.m. this evening. The registration desk is located in the Elite Foyer, Level 1.
- Hungry? Breakfast begins at 7:00 a.m. in Elite Hall A.
- The opening sessions for Metaswitch Forum 2014 begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. in the Empire Ballroom. Metaswitch’s SVP of Marketing, Steve Gleave, will give his opening remarks, setting the pace for the entire show.
- Metaswitch CEO John Lazar presents at 8:40 a.m. How exactly do we follow a viable path to a cloud-based, software-centric, all-IP future? You’ll want to be on-hand for this presentation as Lazar will explain what your role might be in a “post-carrier” future.
- Our first two keynotes begin at 9:30 a.m. The host of National Geographic’s “Brain Games,” Jason Silva, will discuss game-changing technologies and three overlapping trends that will transform our world. Following Silva, EarthLink’s Chief Revenue Officer, Mike Toplisek, will share a customer success story that is sure to motivate and inspire.
- Beginning at 11:00 a.m., Metaswitch CTO Martin Taylor will discuss network functions virtualization (NFV), one of the most transformative trends in the industry. At 11:30 a.m., Metaswitch EVP Graeme MacArthur will introduce the four Metaswitch business units with his presentation, “The Path of the Programmable Network.”
- At 9:00 p.m., please join your fellow Metaswitch Forum attendees at Bourbon Heat, located at 711 Bourbon Street, the site of the historic Tricou House, as Steve Gleave hosts Metaswitch Quiz Night.
