Rob Santos of Vitreous Partners, LLC Headlines Ivy Family Office Outlook Forum in Los Angeles
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 14, 2014 -- The Ivy Family Office Network hosted its April 2014 Family Office Outlook Forum in Los Angeles, CA on April 29th. Rob Santos, CEO of Vitreous Partners, LLC, led a panel discussion on “Asset Allocation”.
Santos commented, “Although we incorporate traditional risk management research and controls into our investment process, we believe it is a much more important and efficient use of our time to identify where there are imminent threats of systematic risks and adjust our strategies accordingly.” He continued, “Whereas the large publicly traded and regulated banks have come under higher scrutiny since 2008, risk has moved to less transparent and unregulated markets, including private and offshore markets. These also happen to be where there may be some of the most attractive opportunities.”
In response to a question on how Vitreous Partners is allocating capital, Santos continued “We are a not alone in our belief that, if appropriate, portfolios should have an allocation to alternatives. However, we also believe that diversification for the sake of diversification is not the right answer for all of our portfolios. Tactical shifts should be made when circumstances call for them. We rely heavily on our research, experience and technology to make such judgments with our clients and their capital.”
Other speakers on the panel included Michael Cannone of Westmount, Leon Tompkins of ImagineNations Group, and Kambiz Aghili (PhD).
