Magellan Switch Up Clicks Right Into A Bike Mount Functioning Liek A Bike Computer

Magellan Switch Up uses GPS to get accurate pace, distance and the heart rate data comes from the chest strap unit with all of this delivered in real-time.

Bozeman, MT (PRWEB) May 15, 2014

Magellan Switch and Switch Up GPS watches are now on sale for $100 and more off at the Heart Rate Watch Company.

"These watches make great bike computer units and work pretty well but just have not gained much traction in the marketplace against larger players like Garmin, Polar and Suunto," says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "We liked the functionality of this watch, especially as a bike computer unit and its a great deal just for that use at these prices."

"The Magellan Switch Up is $160 off which is below wholesale pricing," says Squire. He adds, "I'd grab it for myself if I needed a bike computer at the present time."

Pace, Distance, Heart Rate and More

"Magellan Switch Up uses GPS to get accurate pace, distance and the heart rate data comes from the chest strap unit with all of this delivered in real-time," says Squire. He adds, "When I tested one side-by-side with a Garmin Edge 810 it was very accurate and the screen size and resolution were good."

"Sometimes name recognition and branding makes a big difference and we feel that as good as the Magellan products are they just don't keep pace with the larger companies," says Squire. He adds, "It is unfortunate but at the end of the day a few people are going to get some incredibly sweet deals on these units."

Running

"For running the size and the mass of this watch is a bit big and we certainly would not recommend it to women or guys with smaller wrists," says Squire. He adds, "When you consider that the Garmin Forerunner 220 is only half the weight and half as thick with Bluetooth Smart it is easy to see why this watch did not make a splash in the running community."

"I like Magellan and I remember them being a true GPS pioneer back in the beginning in the 1980's but in the fitness segment they just have not kept pace on marketing so we will be discontinuing the line."

"If you would like to talk to a real expert regarding the Magellan Switch Up or any GPS watch then simply call us at 866-586-7129," says Squire. He adds, "We think you'll appreciate talking with folks that actually use and test the products they sell."
