Chrysler Group Exec Named as Opening Keynote Speaker for SAE International 2014 Convergence
Warrendale, Pa. (PRWEB) May 12, 2014 -- Ralph V. Gilles, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)- Motorsports, Chrysler Group LLC, and Senior Vice President - Product Design, Chrysler Group LLC, will serve as the Opening Keynote Speaker for the 40th annual SAE Convergence.
SAE Convergence, which will be held Oct. 21-22, 2014, at COBO Center in Detroit, brings together technology leaders from across the Globe to address the impact of electronics systems and the issues critical to mobility electronics implementation. This year’s event features a compelling line-up focusing on the most relevant issues surrounding electronics technology. Chrysler Group LLC will serve as Host Company for the event.
Ralph V. Gilles was appointed President and CEO - Motorsports, Chrysler Group LLC in June 2011. He continues to lead the Company's Product Design Office as Senior Vice President, a position he was named to in June 2009.
An avid car enthusiast who enjoys spending time at the track, go-karting and watching TUSCC and Formula 1 auto racing, Mr. Gilles has participated in the Targa Newfoundland Rally, the Car and Driver One Lap of America and the SRT Viper Cup Series. In addition, he has frequently served as a judge at Pebble Beach, Meadow Brook and Cranbrook Concours events, along with the EyesOn Design car show. He has earned numerous academic and industry awards, including: The Michigan State University Eli Broad Graduate School of Management Young Alumni Achievement Award, The Automotive Hall of Fame Young Leadership & Excellence Award, NV Magazine Innovation Award, Black Engineer of the Year President’s Award and N’Digo Foundation N’Design Award.
