Bridget Moynahan and Laura Schroff Join Award-winning Authors at Jumpstart’s Scribbles to Novels Event
NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) May 13, 2014 -- Tonight, Jumpstart, a national early education organization, will bring Jumpstart National Board of Directors Member and actress and star of CBS’s Blue Bloods, Bridget Moynahan, and New York Times best-selling author, Laura Schroff (An Invisible Thread) to their 9th annual Scribbles to Novels event at Cipriani Wall Street. The event will spotlight the work of these luminaries while bringing attention to Jumpstart’s mission of working toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed.
In addition to Ms. Moynahan and Ms. Schroff, Jumpstart will be joined by acclaimed authors, Dr. Joe Brewster, Michele Stephenson, Matthew Cody, Jarrett J. Krosoczka, and Meredith Zeitlin.
“Jumpstart helps young children develop the essential skills they need to be ready for kindergarten and a bright academic future. This growth is driven by the wonderful relationships formed between the children and college students, who implement Jumpstart’s program in low-income communities around the region,” said Kerri Osborne, Regional Vice President of Jumpstart in the Tri-state area. “Jumpstart is an organization that helps close the achievement gap before it starts and inspires young people to lead. We are deeply thankful to Bridget Moynahan, Laura Schroff, and our many featured authors and supporters for building much-needed awareness of this urgent issue.”
Jumpstart’s Scribbles to Novels will bring together an audience of 500 supporters and aims to raise more than $1.3 million in support of Jumpstart’s program in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
