Greenberg Traurig’s Clarence Davis to Serve on the Benedict College Board of Trustees
ATLANTA, GA (PRWEB) May 12, 2014 -- The international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, announced today that Clarence Davis has been appointed to the Benedict College Board of Trustees. Davis is a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Atlanta office.
The Board of Trustees governs Benedict College, a Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) school in Columbia, South Carolina. Board members include qualified individuals representing higher education and the church, as well as business, community leaders and student, faculty and alumni members.

Davis’ practice focuses on complex business litigation, products liability defense of pharmaceutical and medical device companies, toxic torts and class action trial defense, all on a national basis. He has more than 30 years of experience as a trial attorney. Since coming to Greenberg Traurig’s Atlanta office, Davis was listed in 2014’s The Best Lawyers in America for Product Liability Litigation, Personal Injury Litigation and Commercial Litigation. He was on that same list from 2011 and 2013, and was named on Super Lawyers magazine’s list for Business Litigation in 2009 and from 2011 to 2013. From 1989 to 1991, Davis served as Assistant U.S. Attorney, where he was responsible for the jury trials of securities, tax and federal procurement fraud cases, as well as environmental crime work for South Carolina. He was also a Captain in the U.S. Air Force in the 1980s, during which time he prosecuted jury trials of serious felonies at air bases in eight western states. Davis is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and the University of South Carolina’s School of Law.
Davis will serve a three-year term on the Benedict College Board of Trustees. He is also a Board Member of the Woodward Academy Board of Governors in Atlanta, having recently been elected to its Executive Committee, and the University of South Carolina Alumni Association’s Board of Governors.
