WASHINGTON, D.C. (PRWEB) May 13, 2014 -- The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE®) today announced its 2014 board of directors. Matt Harris, Ed.D., head of learning resources, German European School Singapore, Singapore, will serve as chair-elect beginning in June. Elected to second terms on the 12-member board are Laurie Conzemius, media specialist at ISD 309, Park Rapids, Minnesota; and Paige Johnson, education strategist at Intel Education, Hillsborough, Oregon. New to the board are Baltimore County Public Schools Superintendent S. Dallas Dance, Ph.D., and Hall Davidson, senior director of Discovery Education's Global Learning Initiatives.
“Having tremendous talent and trusted leadership on the ISTE board is a terrific catalyst for continuing to move ISTE toward achieving our mission,” said Kecia Ray, chair of the ISTE Board of Directors and executive director of learning technology for the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools in Nashville, Tennessee. “Each of our board members has unique insights, experiences and knowledge that will help shape our organization moving forward.”
The continuing board members are: John Keller, Ph.D., director of instructional technology and eLearning, Metropolitan School District of Warren Township, Zionsville, Indiana; Sheryl Nussbaum-Beach, CEO, Powerful Learning Practice, Virginia Beach, Virginia; Kari Stubbs, Ph.D., vice president, Learning and Innovation, BrainPOP, New York City, New York; Mila Thomas-Fuller, Ph.D., interim executive director, National Council of Teachers of English, Urbana, Illinois; Mia Williams, Ph.D., associate professor, University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, Colorado; and Janet Zanetis, CEO, Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration, Louisville, Kentucky.
The next meeting of the ISTE board is scheduled for Thursday, June 26 at the Omni Hotel, 100 CNN Center, Atlanta, in conjunction with ISTE 2014, June 28 – July 1 at the Georgia World Congress Center. ISTE members are encouraged to attend the board meeting.
