Industry and Leadership Awards to Highlight SAE Foundation Annual Celebration
Warrendale, Pa. (PRWEB) May 13, 2014 -- The SAE Foundation will present four awards during the 2014 Annual Celebration on Thursday, May 22, at the Masonic Temple in Detroit.
The four awards include:
• The Industry Leadership Award: This award recognizes and honors outstanding individual leadership in the mobility industry. The 2014 recipient is Osamu “Simon” Nagata. Nagata is the president and chief executive officer of Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing North America, Inc. (TEMA), where he leads Toyota’s North American manufacturing and engineering operations. He also is senior vice president, Toyota Motor North America, Inc. (TMA) and managing officer, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC).
• The Stefan Pischinger Young Industry Leadership Award: This award recognizes industry professionals with less than 12 years of industry experience, who have significant accomplishments and potential for leadership growth. The 2014 recipients are Sridhar Raveendran, Powertrain HIL Team Lead, Caterpillar Electronics and Yanping Xia, Ph.D., Technology Planner & Advanced Technologist, Delphi Automotive Systems. The award is funded by FEV.
• The Ableson Award for Visionary Leadership: This award recognizes an individual who has exhibited exemplary leadership that benefited SAE International, the SAE Foundation, and/or the SAE Foundation Canada. The 2014 recipient is Joseph B. Anderson, Jr., Chairman, TAG Holdings LLC.
• The Gordon Millar Award: This award recognizes an individual or organization that best demonstrates continuous philanthropic support of the SAE Foundation’s mission. The 2014 recipient is the Toyota USA Foundation. The award is funded by AVL.
Proceeds from this annual fundraiser benefit the SAE Foundation, the charitable arm of SAE International. The SAE Foundation is addressing one of the most pressing issues facing industry today - the decline of students enrolling in science and technology programs – by providing programs that bring math and science to life and sow the seeds of endless possibilities for today's students.
