Radiant RFID to Present Technology Advances in Emergency and DisasterManagement at the 2014 Texas Emergency Management Conference
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) May 13, 2014 -- On May 13, 2014, Radiant will present an educational session called “Technology Advances in Emergency and Disaster Management” at the 2014 Texas Emergency Management and Homeland Security Conference in San Antonio, Texas. This is the eighth year that Radiant has participated in the conference.
The presentation and discussion will focus on how technology is used to bridge the gap between preparedness and recovery and achieve a common operating picture that enables on-scene and off-scene personnel (for example, those at the incident command post, an emergency operations center, and within a multiagency coordination group) to have the same information about an incident, including the availability and location of resources, personnel, and the status of evacuees and victims.
Radiant has worked with numerous jurisdictions and the States of Texas, South Carolina, and New Jersey to develop modern technology solutions that deliver real-time, actionable data that enable responders, emergency managers, shelter managers, and incident commanders to make decisions with greater speed and accuracy than traditional methods.
These solutions have evolved into Radiant RFID’s All Hazard Response Network (AHRN) a unified technology platform that enables emergency managers to locate displaced people and pets as well as responders, equipment, transportation, and medical assets more quickly and accurately than traditional methods during mass emergency scenarios.
AHRN utilizes passive RFID, bar code and GPS technologies to quickly and accurately enroll individuals, manifest them to transportation, and check in and out of events, locations and shelters. The solution is used by emergency managers for mass evacuations, shelter management, responder tracking, mass casualty incidents, and mass fatality incidents. Emergency operations managers at jurisdiction and state levels achieve accurate, real-time situational awareness throughout major events and agency-level personnel reports post-event, improving reimbursement accuracy for both responders and volunteers.
Successfully utilized during Hurricanes Alex, Ike, Gustav, Rita, and Superstorm Sandy, the All Hazard Response Network has supported statewide evacuation and reunification of over 45,000 people and pets with their loved ones since 2004.
