Bridge Solutions Group Achieves 5x Faster Data Transfer Speeds With IBM's Aspera

Transfer 100GB files in minutes, not hours.

Imagine sending a 10GB file across the US in 1.4 minutes, or a 100GB file from the US to Asia in 14 minutes. That is the promise of IBM's latest software acquisition, Aspera. Working closely with Aspera, IBM Premier Business Partner, Bridge Solutions Group, has developed the first pilot using Aspera with the IBM Sterling B2B Integration Suite. The pilot is running between the US and India and has yielded data transfer speeds that are 5 times faster.

"Companies like Universal Studios are already realizing the ROI of shorter file transfer times and reduced transfer resends for their large movie files. Now, as result of our unique relationship with IBM and Aspera, our clients can benefit from ultra high-speed file transfer with their trading partners. We're really excited that our pilot has achieved transfer rates up to 5 times faster than traditional FTP," said David Dhanjal, Bridge Solutions Group's Integration Practice Lead.

"While freely available web-based file sharing applications may be convenient, the business risks, including loss of control over data flow, lack of security, and slow file transfer rates pose a significant risk to both productivity and brand integrity,” added David.
