‘Energy Apathy’ declining as two-thirds of Brits switch providers for better deals

With energy prices making headlines over the last few months, more consumers than ever should now be aware of the savings that can be made by switching providers. Research carried out by TopCashback, released today, reveals an encouraging two-thirds of Brits have switched both gas and electricity providers, indicating that ‘switching apathy’ in the energy market is declining.

Additionally, more than three-quarters (75%) of Brits are considering switching now that new regulations have been put in place to make it easier. Other key findings revealed that:

  •     81% of Brits now review their energy bills each year
  •     Around two-thirds (64%) now review their energy bills as often as other service providers
  •     Yorkshire and the Humber switch energy providers most regularly
  •     London is the most apathetic when it comes to switching
