Visa Inc. Chief Executive Officer Charles W. Scharf to Deliver Graduation Address at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) May 14, 2014 -- Visa Inc. Chief Executive Officer Charles W. Scharf will deliver the main address at the graduation ceremony of the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore.

A Johns Hopkins alumnus and a member of the university’s Board of Trustees, Scharf has been the CEO and a director of Visa Inc. since November 1, 2012. Previously, he was a managing director of One Equity Partners, the private investment arm of JPMorgan Chase & Co. From 2004 to 2011, he served as CEO of Retail Financial Services at JPMorgan Chase, and from 2002 to 2004 he served as CEO of the retail division of Bank One Corporation. In addition, he was Chief Financial Officer of Bank One from 2000 to 2002, CFO of the Global Corporate and Investment Bank division at Citigroup Inc. from 1999 to 2000, and CFO of Salomon Smith Barney and its predecessor company from 1995 to 1999.
Scharf was a member of the Supervisory Board of SMARTRAC N.V., a Dutch public company, from June 2012 to October 2012 and a director of Travelers Property Casualty Corporation from 2002 to 2005. He also was a director of Visa Inc. from 2007 to 2011 and a director of Visa U.S.A. from 2003 to 2007.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins and a Master of Business Administration degree from New York University.
