Decosimo State & Local Tax Director Larry Hyatt Presents on Sales & Use Tax Issues in Alabama
Huntsville, Ala. (PRWEB) May 14, 2014 -- Decosimo’s Director of State and Local Tax Services Larry Hyatt, CPA, CFE, will serve as the featured presenter for a seminar on Sales and Use Tax in Alabama on June 10. Hosted by Lorman Educational Services, the two-hour seminar to be held in Huntsville will cover topics in the areas of multistate transactions, contractor use issues, statistic sampling, as well as court cases and rulings.
Within each of the subject areas, Mr. Hyatt will focus on key areas that are impacted by Sales and Use Tax in Alabama. The multistate transactions section of the presentation will address click-thru nexus, cloud transactions, intangibles and re-sale certificate issues. The contractor use section will cover multistate inventory, real versus tangible personal property taxability and the taxability of government and nonprofit contracts. While the court case and rulings section will cover recent rulings in Alabama and the surrounding states, the statistic samplings portion of the presentation will highlight approaches to avoid pitfalls, including how to manage the audit, treatment of credits and issues related to incorrect accounting designations.
Mr. Hyatt, a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner, is a principal with Decosimo specializing in federal, state and local tax.
