Both Ends Burning Announces May 17th as “Step Forward For Orphans Day”
(PRWEB) May 13, 2014 -- Both Ends Burning (BEB), a nonprofit organization dedicated to defending every child’s human right to a permanent loving family, today announced that on May 17, 2014, events across the nation will take place in support of Step Forward for Orphans Day. Organized by Both Ends Burning to raise public awareness and promote change for the millions of un-parented children in the world, BEB volunteers and supporters will step forward in their communities to give a voice to this human rights crisis.
Events will take place in public venues and in community gatherings all over the country.
Craig Juntunen, founder of Both Ends Burning commented: “Our education and awareness campaign is creating an influential social force. Every day more and more people are uniting to demand that governments recognize the basic human right of every child to belong in a loving, nurturing family. It is time to make at risk children living outside of a permanent family a social and political priority. May 17th will become a national day to recognize the significance of a family to every child.”
This year’s activities follow the dramatic Step Forward for Orphans March in 2013 when Both Ends Burning supporters descended on Washington, D.C., to launch a social movement to make children living outside of parental care a relevant social issue.
