Bob Ryan and Jeff Kinney Join Award-Winning Authors at Jumpstart’s Scribbles to Novels Event
Boston, MA (PRWEB) May 15, 2014 -- Tonight, Jumpstart, a national early education organization, will host its annual Scribbles to Novels event at the InterContinental Boston. Jumpstart’s Scribbles to Novels is a unique fundraising event that provides attendees with the opportunity to meet well-known authors in an intimate setting. This year’s affair will celebrate Jumpstart’s service to children over the last twenty-one years and will feature renowned sportswriter and television analyst, Bob Ryan and bestselling author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, Jeff Kinney.
In addition to Mr. Ryan and Mr. Kinney, Scribbles to Novels will feature a round table discussion highlighting the importance of literature and education in the lives of a number of distinguished authors, raising awareness of Jumpstart’s mission to work toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten, prepared to succeed. Authors include Gish Jen, author of Tiger Writing: Art, Culture, and the Interdependent Self; Sue Miller, author of Oprah's Book Club selection While I Was Gone; and Mary Pope Osborne, award-winning author of the Magic Tree House series.
The event will honor Mark Nunnelly, Managing Director of Bain Capital, for his many years of service on Jumpstart’s National Board of Directors and his leadership in education reform.
Jumpstart’s Scribbles to Novels will bring together an audience of over 300 supporters and aims to raise more than $700,000 for Jumpstart’s programs in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
