Center for Discovery is providing residential treatment services through its adolescent treatment program for a guest on the Dr. Phil show.

The May 14th episode of the Dr. Phil show focuses on a 16-year-old young woman who is struggling with at risk behaviors including drugs, alcohol and sexual activity. Dr. Phil explores her childhood and her family relationships as he seeks to identify the sources of her behavior. Dr. Phil also discusses with her the seriousness of her behaviors and their potential consequences. Dr. Phil then calls Dr. Matthew Polacheck, Program Director at Center for Discovery and an expert in the field of adolescent psychology, to come on stage to strategize an effective intervention for the young woman. Dr. Polacheck discusses some of the potential reasons for the young woman’s behavior and talks about ways the family can support this young woman. Dr. Phil tells the family that Center for Discovery can provide this young woman with the skills and the help she needs.
