Farm-to-Bottle Distillery Comes to Beacon, New York
Beacon, NY (PRWEB) May 20, 2014 -- Today, husband and wife team Karl and Susan Johnson announced their intention and commitment to open Denning’s Point Distillery, LLC, the first craft distillery in Beacon, NY.
The company, which is located at 10 North Chestnut Street in Beacon, has already received their New York State class A1 and D, “Farm Distillery License” and is awaiting approval for their license from the Federal Government. They intend to produce and bottle gin, bourbon, whiskey and rye in their facility. The facility also includes a tasting room that will be open to the public.
“Thanks to new state legislation, it is now feasible to start a new distillery. As a licensed farm distillery, we are committed to using 71% of NY State agricultural product in our spirits. We consider this a win-win—both for us and the regional farmers,” said Karl Johnson, the company’s Chief Distiller. “There are a number of fantastic farm distilleries in this region, but we have a few interesting techniques up our sleeves that yield an amazing product and that have not been done before in the craft market. It’s an exciting time,” said Susan Johnson, the company’s Marketing Director.
“We are very excited to be located in Beacon, NY and are very appreciative of the town’s support of our business. We are looking forward to being fully operational and being part of the town’s great character,” concluded Susan Johnson.
