Wehrenberg Theatres, The Nation's Oldest Family Owned Theatre Chain, Looks to Aggressive Growth in 2014 and Beyond
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) May 14, 2014 -- Wehrenberg Theatres announced today an aggressive growth plan for the St. Louis-owned-and-operated theatre chain. Wehrenberg Theatres is the oldest family-owned circuit in the country and prides itself for being the first to offer the newest and best movie-going technologies the industry has to offer. The chain also has a knack for selecting locations that are primed for offering a new and exciting movie-going experience.
2013 welcomed the brand new Eagles’ Landing 8 Cine in Lake Ozark, MO. The state-of-the-art facility features eight digital movie screens including three leading-edge, 3D-digital auditoriums. This new facility also boasts many exciting movie-going amenities our guests love.
All auditoriums’ luxury seating are leather, high-back rockers equipped with “snuggle-seating.” Snuggle-seating rockers have movable armrests so guests can get close during the movie. All auditoriums feature large screens, stadium-seating and sharp, clear digital pictures and sound.
The concession stand is large and offers a wider variety of snacks for hungry movie-goers. Guests also have a self-serve option for filling their own soft-drinks.
Given the unpredictable weather in the area, guests appreciate the indoor box offices of Eagles’ Landing 8 Cine. The large lobby space also includes an expanded game area.
The chain’s aggressive growth and expansion continued with the rollout of their Five Star Lounge luxury concept for the 21-and-over crowd. The Five Star Lounge auditoriums are at Chesterfield’s Galaxy 14 Cine (home of the Mega Screen), Des Peres 14 Cine and St. Charles 18, all in the St. Louis area.
The Five Star Lounge concept boasts leather recliners for seating with plenty of space and comfort. Each has controls for reclining, heating and to call the wait staff. With the push of a button, a server will arrive at your recliner to take food or drink orders or bus your table. The auditorium boasts expanded aisle and row spacing so stretching out is encouraged. Wall-to-wall silver screens host crisp, clear digital images of your favorite movie. Seating is by reservation only and can be made at the theatre or on-line at the company’s website.
In addition to the luxurious auditoriums, Des Peres 14 Cine and St. Charles 18 Cine proudly offer a full-service bar guests can meet in before or after their show. Dubbed the “Five Star Lobby Bar” the cozy area is an excellent place to meet before watching a film, catching the score of the game on the HDTV or discussing the film the guests just enjoyed. The Five Star Lobby Bar is available to all guests in the complex.
Of course for an experience such as this, guests can expect more than popcorn, soda and candy. Though the traditional concessions are available, guests will have a full menu of appetizers, entrees, desserts and adult beverages. Menus include flatbread pizza, veggie trays with hummus, mahi mahi fingers, lobster nachos and chicken wraps.
In Spring 2014, an expansion of a popular guest amenity and a new concept for luxury auditoriums debuted at our St. Charles 18 Cine. “Suite Seats,” the chain’s luxurious, premium seating for all ages, was a first for movie-goers in St. Louis. The Suite Seats are leather recliners offering plenty of room for guests to relax as they truly immerse themselves in their movie experience. Much like Five Star Lounge seating, each Suite Seat comes equipped with seat heaters and recline features the guests control with the push of a button.
Suite Seats are paired for couples to enjoy each other’s company, and tables at each seat allow for the enjoyment of food or drink from the theatre’s expansive menus. Whether guests wish to bring in traditional fare like popcorn and candy, or appetizers and entrees from a full menu, they can have their fill in total comfort. Snacks and meals can be ordered from the concession areas or St. Charles 18’s Five Star Lobby Bar and brought into any auditorium, including the brand new Suite Seats.
Families will love Suite Seats as well because the auditoriums have no age restrictions. Guests of all ages can experience the incredible comfort and elegance of the plush leather recliners. They also will enjoy the added convenience of reserved seating! From Wehrenberg Theatres’ webpage, http://www.wehrenberg.com, guests can see which seats are open and select the Suite Seats of their choice. Those seats will remain open until the guests arrive.
In addition to these innovations already being enjoyed by guests, more growth projects are moving forward for 2014 -2015.
Ronnies 20 Cine, home of Wehrenberg’s IMAX theatre located in St. Louis, is slated to be fitted with the Five Star Lounge luxury auditorium floor plan. The addition of the 21-and-over concept will truly keep our Ronnies 20 as a destination stop for movies and a fun time out!
The St. Clair 10 Cine, located in Fairview Heights, Ill., will be transformed into the “Fairview Five Stars”. The entire complex will boast a Five Star Lobby Bar as well as eight Five Star Lounge luxury auditoriums for the 21-and-over crowd.
Construction begins in Fall 2014 for a nine-screen movie complex combining Five Star Lounges and Suite Seats in the Shrewsbury area of St. Louis. This will be a welcome addition by the movie-goers in this part of town.
Our Cape West 14 Cine in Cape Girardeau, MO is slated to be fitted with the Five Star Lounge luxury auditorium floor plan. We will also be placing Suite Seats auditoriums for audiences of all ages to enjoy in the larger auditoriums. We have served this market since 1997 and continue to improve and expand our complex as industry technologies change and get better and better.
Auditoriums at Campbell 16 Cine in Springfield, MO will also receive Five Star Lounge and Suite Seat luxury upgrades. Guests in Springfield, like guests in Cape Girardeau, rely on Wehrenberg Theatres to remain at the forefront of movie-going technology. The theatre, built in 1996, will continue to introduce the innovations our guests have come to expect from Wehrenberg Theatres.
Our growth plan is not limited to these projects. We are excited to be in a position to consider additional markets for our growth as well. We will utilize our newest movie-going concepts, Five Star Lounges and Suite Seats, to build and evolve movie-going audiences in new markets. These innovations combined with sensitivity to affordability will secure customer attendance for our chain into the future. We are a strong circuit and excited about the future of our theatres and movie-going.
