Miraca Life Sciences Names Ranjitha Veerappan, MD, as Director of Molecular Genetics
Irving, Texas (PRWEB) May 15, 2014 -- Miraca Life Sciences, (MLS) the nation’s largest independent anatomic pathology lab, has named Ranjitha Veerappan, MD, as Director of Molecular Genetics, responsible for leading the company’s molecular pathology services and research for hematology/oncology.
Dr. Veerappan is board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, molecular genetic pathology and hematopathology, having completed her molecular genetic pathology fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University, and hematopathology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center. She also served as Chief Resident during her pathology residency at East Tennessee State University. Dr. Veerappan also served a one-year residency at Northwestern University in Chicago. She has co-authored a number of peer-reviewed articles on the topics of hematopathology and molecular pathology.
Dr. Veerappan previously served as a Hematopathologist and Director of Molecular Pathology at siParadigm Diagnostic Informatics in Oradell, N.J. Additionally, she had held a similar role at Hematogenix Laboratory Services in Tinley Park, Ill.
