Wilsonville, OR (PRWEB) May 14, 2014

Signature Hospice, Home Health and Home Care, a regional leader of home care and home health solutions for seniors throughout Oregon and Washington, announced it has acquired XL Hospice, a leading provider of hospice, primary care, and palliative care consultation services throughout Idaho and Nevada.

“We are very excited to welcome XL Hospice to our family of companies,” says Bob Thomas, PT, President of Signature Hospice, Home Health and Home Care. “The philosophy and approach to senior care services of XL Hospice specialized clinical teams and volunteers is right in line with our mission to enhance the life of every person we serve.”

The purchase of XL Hospice by Signature Hospice, Home Health and Home Care is a direct response to the increasing demand of the nation’s aging population to receive end-of-life care and post-acute services in the comfort of a private residence. The improved market reach and combined expertise and resources of the two health care companies will also increase their abilities to reduce unnecessary emergency room visits and hospital re-admissions.

Dwight Olson, LCSW, Administrator for XL Hospice, sees positive opportunities stemming from the acquisition. “Signature has a proven track record of putting the patient at the center of the decisions they make. XL Hospice is enthusiastic to align our services with Signature’s mission as we continue to work toward reducing hospital re-admissions, focus on patient comfort and care, and increase patient satisfaction.”

The acquisition adds 66 hospice employees to Signature Hospice, Home Health and Home Care’s approximately 650 staff associates and hundreds of volunteers. The purchase will also expand its existing market footprint from Oregon and Washington to include Idaho and Nevada.
