Malibu, California (PRWEB) May 15, 2014
The Malibeauties, in collaboration with Barcelona Enterprises are hosting a fundraiser for Rock Against Trafficking, a local charity that combines music and the entertainment industry to create global awareness about the horrors of child labor and sex trafficking. The event will take place at The Calabasas and Malibu Wine & Food Festival on June 7th, 20th & 21st. For several years, the Calabasas / Malibu Wine & Food Festival has offered a premium experience to connoisseurs of elegant cuisine, all while bringing attention to some of today's most pressing social issues.
The Malibeauties are a club of Malibu women who have taken their real world experience in business, psychology, real estate, sports, the arts, fashion, etc, and are collectively utilizing their time and resources to promote numerous charitable causes and effect change in their community and beyond. “At Barcelona Enterprises, we are dedicated to making a positive difference in the communities we serve, and The Malibeauties fit right into that philosophy,” said Barcelona CEO, Alan Semsar. “It is an honor to host the Rock Against Trafficking benefit event and support what I consider to be a brilliant approach to fighting the very real crisis of child labor and sex trafficking. Thank you to Barcelona Enterprises for making this event possible,” said Christiana D’Amore, entrepreneur, co-owner of D'Amore's Pizza and founder of the Malibeauties. The net proceeds of the Calabasas and Malibu Wine & Food Festival this year will go to Rock Against Trafficking.
Rock Against Trafficking (RAT) was founded by Gary Miller, Peter White, and Miller’s music partner, Rimma Drosdov. The RAT team is currently producing the project, "Set Them Free," with legendary artists performing covers of the music of Sting and the Police. The first artists/bands to record songs for the album are all Grammy Award or Rock-n-Roll Hall of Famers winners or nominees, including: Fergie (Black Eyed Peas), Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), Slash (Guns & Roses), Julian Lennon, Journey, and Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple). Others who have committed to the project include, Heart, En Vogue, and Joss Stone, with numerous other artists or their reps expressing interest, such as, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. All proceeds from the sale of “Set Them Free” will fund the acclaimed work of International Justice Mission (IJM), who work directly rescuing and rehabilitating abused children trapped in sex or labor slavery worldwide, placing them into a safe and loving environment for restoration and prosecuting perpetrators to bring justice and prevent future victimization.
