SERAPID to Exhibit at the AIA National Convention in Chicago

SERAPID will be demonstrating their LinkLift platform systems at this years AIA National Convention in Chicago.


Serapid, Inc., a leading supplier of motion technology, will be participating in the annual AIA National Convention held at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL June 26-28, 2014.

The AIA National Convention is the largest annual gathering of architects and design professionals in the U.S., and is hosted by AIA, the leading professional membership association for licensed architects, emerging professionals, and allied partners. The organization was established in 1857 with the stated goals of promoting the scientific and practical perfection of its members and elevating the standing of the profession.

The Expo will have nearly 800 exhibitors with displays showcasing new materials, products, and technology. There are eight specialty pavilions to explore the latest materials and technologies, and 2 days of educational sessions on topics such as solutions that solve building code and user demands changes.

Serapid will be demonstrating its LinkLift™ platform lift system and its innovative telescopic mast, both featuring Serapid’s Rigid Chain Technology (RCT). A longtime producer of linear actuation systems, Serapid has the technology to provide unique moving features in buildings. LinkLift™ systems are able to push/pull structures weighing in excess of 200 tons and lift in excess of 300 tons. Serapid systems are in use worldwide for stage and performance spaces, as well as in unique projects such as the Skybox at Willis (the former Sears) tower in Chicago, the retractable roof for Campo Pequeno (a stadium historically used for bullfights) in Lisbon, and the vertical lift system for the aircraft warning beacon atop the 755 ft. high Heron Tower in London.
