Major Media Endorsements Continue to Roll in for John Morris for Los Angeles County Assessor
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 16, 2014 -- Noting his commitment to protect taxpayers and operate transparently, the Long Beach Press-Telegram endorsed John Morris for Los Angeles County Assessor.
"Long Beach homeowners have trusted the Press-Telegram for over a century," said John Morris. "To have their support says a lot about my plan that will save tax dollars, protect taxpayers, and protect Prop 13."
Coming at the same time several hundred thousand Los Angeles County voters are receiving their vote-by-mail ballots, the Long Beach Press-Telegram endorsement in combination with other major endorsements including the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association are extremely important for voters and the Morris campaign.
"We are 3 for 3 so far on the endorsements of major newspapers," said John Morris. "Now that the Press-Telegram has joined the LA Daily News, and the LA Times along with the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, and dozens of other leaders and groups we can communicate a broad base of support to voters."
In its endorsement of Morris, the Press-Telegram lauded his commitment on building an assessor's office that is transparent in its operations and responsible to taxpayers, saying "... Morris is convincing when he says, “As an outsider, I’ve got nothing to hide. I would root out the political problems and establish transparency.”"
"The Los Angeles County Assessor manages the valuation of almost 2.4 million individual pieces of property. It needs to use the latest technology, operate transparently and be responsive and protective of taxpayers," said John Morris. "I have a plan that if in place today would have saved county taxpayers $10 million and once in office I will enact it as quickly as possible."
