John Morris Campaign For Los Angeles County Assessor Continues Major Media Endorsement Momentum With Backing From Fifth Major Daily Newspaper
(PRWEB) May 21, 2014 -- As the race for the June 3 primary begins to come down to the wire, John Morris stands alone amongst the many candidates for Los Angeles County Assessor in endorsements from major daily newspapers with the recent endorsement of the Pasadena Star-News.
"Newspaper endorsements are a key way voters decide on the background and plans of candidates," explained John Morris. "To have the Pasadena Star-News become the fifth Los Angeles County major daily to endorse me helps communicate that my experience will help this agency improve its taxpayer protections."
Running on his experience as a Head Deputy District Attorney for Los Angeles County, John Morris has added a number of major endorsements in the last two months, including the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association.
"Voters in the Pasadena area have relied on the Star-News for over 120 years to help them make the important decision about who to support," said Morris. "Their reporting on the Assessor's office over the years led to several reforms that improved taxpayer protections and I am running to protect taxpayers so I am especially gratified by their support."
Drawing on his 24 years of experience helping lead prosecutions in the Los Angeles District Attorney's office, John Morris has spent the last year promoting a multi-point plan to modernize the Assessor's office, pass significant taxpayer protections, and always insure that Prop 13 is followed in property assessments.
"I'm running for this office because politics and property assessments will not mix when I am Assessor," said John Morris. "Now five major daily newspapers and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association agree that my plan will work and save millions in hard earned tax dollars."
