GDUSA's 51st Annual Graphic Design Competition Now Open
New York, NY (PRWEB) May 19, 2014 -- Graphic Design USA announces the opening of its 51st national design competition for the creativity community. The American Graphic Design Awards welcomes everyone in the community: graphic design firms and ad agencies, corporate and non-profit in-house designers, government and educational institutions, media and publishing companies, and more.
The awards program honors outstanding new work of all kinds: print, packaging, point-of-purchase, internet, interactive and motion graphics. Winners receive an embossed Certificate of Excellence for each winning piece, and become eligible for publication in the 51st Anniversary GDUSA Awards Annual in print, digital, on the web, on our iPad app.
In 2014, there are 24 categories that run the gamut from traditional designer staples such as brochures and branding to especially robust areas of growth such as Package and Web Design to the newly emerging powerhouses such as Infographics, App and Video Design. Last year's competition generated roughly 9,000 entries from 46 states (plus Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands).
GDUSA Editor Gordon Kaye comments: "Graphic Design at its best is information and intelligence made visual. Our awards program has survived and thrived for five decades because it showcases the endless ways in which graphic design shapes business and society, commerce and culture. And how each new generation finds a new way to meet the fundamental challenge of communicating the essence of products, brands, companies, ideas and causes."
The American Graphic Design Awards is open for entries through June. Getty Images is the exclusive sponsor of the 2014 Awards and Annual. More information and a downloadable entry form can be found at http://gdusa.com/contests/agda14/enter/.
