The tour will kick off on Sept. 5 with a stop in Columbus, Ohio running through Dec. 21 in Kansas City, Mo. There is already increased anticipation for the tour and fans are getting excited at the chance to see the popular group perform. Fans will also get a chance to see Cage the Elephant, Jake Bugg and St. Vincent perform as opening acts. The various acts will be opening stops at various dates throughout the tour.
The Black Keys have released eight albums in their career since their first album came out in 2008. While albums like Attack & Release and Brothers have been successful for the group, neither has reached the same success as their 2011 album, El Camino. The album has been certified platinum in the United States by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling more than a million copies. The album has also been certified platinum twice in Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
Among the most popular songs that fans of theirs will want to hear performed on the tour include “Tighten Up,” “Howlin’ for You,” “Lonely Boy,” “Gold on the Ceiling,” and “Little Black Submarines.” These songs have all been certified gold or platinum in the United States and Canada. Their biggest mainstream hit in the United States was the 2011 single, “Lonely Boy.” The song was their second single to reach the No. 1 single on the Billboard alternative charts.
Cage the Elephant is a rock group that formed in2006 in Bowling Green, Ky. Their 2008 debut album, Cage the Elephant, has been their most successful release, having sold more than 500,000 copies around the world. Jake Bugg, a solo artist from Clifton, Nottingham, England, has had a critically acclaimed career already. He was the winner of the Best New Artist award at the Q Awards and both of his albums have been certified platinum in the United Kingdom at least once. St. Vincent is a native of Tulsa, Okla. that has released five albums, including her critically acclaimed 2014 self-titled release.
During the 42-date tour, the group will travel to many of the most popular arenas in the United States and Canada including the Quicken Loans Arena in Columbus, Ohio; Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, MI; Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON, Canada; Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada; Key Arena in Seattle, WA; and Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN.
