Westend Bistro Enhances Wine List With Rare, Sought-After Vintage Wines
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) May 16, 2014 -- Guests of Westend Bistro can now toast to a glass of sumptuous Burgundy or Bordeaux wine with the restaurant’s newly enhanced wine menu. Featuring a treasured selection of fine vintage wines, the award-winning restaurant hopes to introduce guests to a completely new and exclusive wine experience that can’t be found elsewhere.
Stored perfectly in a top private cellar since original purchase, the majority of the new wine additions are items that have never gone to auction before, anywhere in the world. Some of the treasures that were acquired include: 1985 Louis Latour, “Bâtard-Montrachet”, Grand Cru, Puligny-Montrachet, Burgundy; 1989 Comtes Lafon, “Desirée”, Meursault, Burgundy; 1970 Château Léoville Las Cases, Deuxieme Cru, Saint Julien, Bordeaux and 1971 Bouchard Père et Fils, “Clos Vougeot”, Grand Cru, Vougeot, Burgundy.
The rare and sought-after wine additions were acquired in Chicago at the Auction of Finest and Rarest Wines. Featuring possibly one of the best collections ever to go to auction, the restaurant’s sommelier, Michael H. Kennedy II, attended the auction and came back with an incredible selection of vintage wines to enhance Westend Bistro’s already stellar wine list.
“To our knowledge, no wine program in the country is offering wines of this caliber and age by the glass,” said Kennedy. “We sincerely hope that this is an experience that will open up our guest’s eyes to the incredible wines of Burgundy and Bordeaux at their peak drinking window.”
Westend Bistro is located at 1190 22nd Street, N.W., Washington D.C. 20037.
