Online Charity Auction Site BidKind Launches During The 2014 Cannes Film Festival with Charity Partner The Art of Elysium
Cannes, France (PRWEB) May 16, 2014 -- Today’s Art of Elysium 6th annual Paradis event at the 2014 Cannes film festival marked the launch of BidKind, an online charity auction site that raises funds for nonprofit organizations by offering users access to celebrities, prominent brands and unforgettable experiences. BidKind is kicking off its full site launch by partnering with The Art of Elysium to create a number of once-in-a-lifetime opportunities, the proceeds of which will go toward furthering the charity’s mission to make art a catalyst for social change and bring creativity and inspiration to tens of thousands of hospitalized children and artists.
The BidKind site has a low barrier to entry and an affordable pay-to-bid auction model. Consumers have the ability to bid on a web- and mobile-optimized site in real-time, and can navigate all content on the site in English, Spanish, or Brazilian Portuguese. BidKind Founder and CEO, Hervé Larren, explains, “Our auctions are unique because, with a bid of just $1 anyone can bid on experiences traditionally reserved for the world’s wealthiest 1%. What’s more, we are reaching out to audiences that many charities have not traditionally targeted for fundraising, but nonetheless want to participate in causes that are meaningful to them. This means that many more people will participate in our auctions, which in turn will generate even more money for important causes.”
Jennifer Howell, The Art of Elysium’s Founder, emphasized, “This new fundraising model was a large part of what attracted us to BidKind. We are excited about our partnership with BidKind. We anticipate that this innovative new platform will enable us to positively impact even more children facing serious medical conditions.” Larren concluded, “this common goal for the two organizations made launching BidKind during The Art of Elysium sixth annual PARADIS party an obvious choice.”
The May 16th luncheon at the historic Villa St. George, nestled in the hills overlooking Cannes, honored actress Paz Vega for her commitment to the Art of Elysium’s work and celebrated her role in the Opening Night film, Grace of Monaco. Other celebrity attendees included Louise Roe and Entertainment Tonight’s Carly Steel.
The Paradis event also served as one of the many world-class experiences the winner of BidKind’s April limited beta auction, which benefitted an anti-poverty foundation, is enjoying. Winning bidder Giedre Bond received exclusive event access, accommodations and travel for the Cannes Film Festival. Ms. Bond emphasized, “Normally, there is no way I could have attended this event. When I learned that I could use BidKind to successfully bid on this experience at a price point I could afford, I was really excited. I would have felt good knowing I was helping a great cause even if I lost the auction, but winning has been a dream come true!”
