Top Activity Trackers for 2014 By HRWC
Bozeman, MT (PRWEB) May 22, 2014 -- The top activity trackers for 2014 have been named by the test staff at the Heart Rate Watch Company.
"We do actual wheel measured distance tests, count out step accuracy against actual steps on a 5 kilometer course and consider overall features," says Rusty Squire, President of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "Having heart rate is essential since these bands use accelerometers it is the only accurate indicator of how hard you are working, especially when your wrist is not moving."
"We considered both watches that have activity features and bands to come up with our winners," says Squire.
#1 - Polar V800 - "This watch is not only the best activity tracker on the market it is also the best heart rate monitor and the best GPS watch," says Squire. He adds, "Yes it does activity but it adds advanced features like VO2, heart rate variability and wireless data transfer with Bluetooth Smart to iPhone or Android."
#2 - Garmin Forerunner 15 - "This watch adds all the activity features of the Garmin Vivofit to a watch with heart rate and then adds GPS for much more accurate distance," says Squire. He adds, "We've tested activity trackers that measure distance with accelerometers and they are very inaccurate, like one-half mile off in 3 miles which is not real good."
#3 - Garmin Vivofit - "Garmin Vivofit uses an LCD screen for much better outdoor visibility, has 10 months battery life with no recharging, offers heart rate data and two bands for larger and smaller wrists in up to 5 color combinations," says Squire. He adds, "It's step count accuracy was within 50 steps over a 5,680 step course."
#4 - Polar Loop - "Polar Loop is dressier and offers a locking steel clasp for extra security," says Squire. He adds, "It delivers heart rate and also tested with 65 steps of accurate on the 5,680 step course which was very good."
"A lot of company's make activity trackers but we are focused on accuracy, data quality and feature sets rather than hype," says Squire.
