Appfluent and Cisco are perfectly aligned to help companies move to a federated, hybrid data ecosystem.
Rockville, MD (PRWEB) May 19, 2014
Appfluent Technology, Inc., an enterprise software company transforming the economics of big data warehouse systems and Hadoop, today announced that Appfluent VisibilityTM will be an element of Cisco’s Big Data Warehouse Expansion, a solution that helps customers control costs while managing their ever-expanding data warehouses. The solution overcomes warehouse capacity and performance constraints by offloading historical data to low-cost big data stores, while enhancing analytics through logical access to both sources.
Working together, the two companies will provide customers a complete software, hardware and services solution that:
- Enhances analytics with expanded data breadth by effectively allowing customers to analyze not only recent data, but also get unprecedented access to all historical data
- Holistically reduces operational costs by economically locating hot/cold data in its proper place while minimizing data management costs
- Improves analytics/data warehouse performance with its unique blend of best-in-class data, computing, and network infrastructures to drive accelerated performance and scalability
- Leverages customers’ massive data assets to gain competitive advantage and achieve better business outcomes
- Reduces risk while advancing your data strategy with an end-to-end solution
Appfluent VisibilityTM will be used to analyze data warehouse usage and identify opportunities for lower cost big data storage and processing using Hadoop.
Cisco’s Big Data Warehouse Expansion will offer Cisco UCS optimized for big data stores, Cisco Data Virtualization for federating multiple data sources, and a comprehensive services methodology for assessing, migrating, virtualizing and operating a logically expanded warehouse.
Appfluent VisibilityTM is the only solution in the Big Data marketplace to deliver analytics on business activity and data usage across Teradata, Oracle/Exadata, IBM DB2, IBM Netezza, IBM® PureData™ for Analytics and Hadoop.
“Appfluent and Cisco are perfectly aligned to help companies move to a federated, hybrid data ecosystem,” said Shawn Rogers, vice president of research, Enterprise Management Associates. “Appfluent is uniquely positioned to benefit from the trend toward this model, as it is the only solution that provides IT management with extensive visibility into multiple Big Data platforms via a single, integrated view.”
“Industry research indicates that Big Data will drive billions in IT spending in the next two years,” said Shawn Dolley, vice president, corporate development and strategy, Appfluent. “Companies continue to face rising costs from the rapid growth of big data. However, with the power of Cisco Big Data Warehouse Expansion, they can identify costly workloads and data to offload for incredible savings."
Appfluent provides IT organizations with unprecedented visibility into their Big Data systems to reduce costs. Appfluent helps companies put the right workload on the right system, across data warehouses, business intelligence, and Hadoop. Seeing every analytic and Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) that hits Big Data systems, Appfluent can see where organizations are wasting expensive compute and storage.
