Fiberon Decking has announced the 2014 edition of their annual Enjoy Your Deck Day, an outdoor living space celebration. The composite decking company has put out a call to action for everyone with an outdoor living space to get out and enjoy leisure time relaxing with family and friends.

The festivities will include a $20,000 deck improvement giveaway in addition to a charity drive where Fiberon will match up to $10,000 in donated funds to a long list of nonprofits.

With the launch of a blog series that inspires ideas for deck decorations, parties and events, family time, and gardening, Fiberon hopes that millions of people will spend 24 hours living the good life on their deck.

According to Fiberon CEO, Doug Mancosh, the national and increasingly popular Enjoy Your Deck Day is about living life outside of work.

“On that Saturday [June 7], we want people to get far away from the cubicle. We invite everyone to step out onto their deck, get a little sunshine, and spend time with people they care about. Whether it’s a barbecue, a pool party, or a marathon s’more-making session, we want people to have a good time. It’s really that simple.”

Mancosh continues to say that the mission of Enjoy Your Deck Day stretches beyond relaxation, connection, and fun.

“Because we believe in the importance of the good life, we’d like to give others the same opportunity, which is why Fiberon will match up to $10,000 in donations to a large number of charities during the course of this event. Whatever you’re passionate about with respect to charity, chances are we have a nonprofit on our roster that matches your values.”

When asked about what kind of charities National Enjoy Your Deck Day caters to, Mancosh pointed to a long list that ranges from cancer research to animal rescue.

The complete roster includes many of the most beloved nonprofits.

Specifically, participants will be able to contribute to UNICEF, the Boot Campaign, the American Humane Society, Music for Relief, Haiti h2o, Curer JM, the American Cancer Society, the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Artists for Peace and Justice, the Alzheimer’s Association, the Boys and Girls Club of America, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Autism Speaks, the Ronald McDonald House, March of Dimes, the Pat Tillman Foundation, and Research Down Syndrome.

When contributions are made to these organizations, Fiberon will match up to $10,000. With this in mind, the Enjoy Your Deck Day celebration will make an impact not only for participants, but also for the world.

Anyone who wishes to take part in this event may do so simply by visiting the Enjoy Your Deck Day website. In addition to the charity drive, participants will upload videos of what they’re doing to celebrate Enjoy Your Deck Day.

When participants upload deck-time videos as part of the June 7 event, their contribution will automatically qualify them to win a $20,000 prize from Fiberon. Including labor expenses, this major prize will give one lucky Enjoy Your Deck Day participant their dream outdoor living space.

When asked about what inspired the $20,000 giveaway, VP of marketing, Shellie Sellards, points to how Fiberon wants homeowners to have a lower maintenance option for their outdoor living spaces.

“We believe composite decking gives homeowners more time to enjoy their outdoor living spaces and the freedom from having to stain and paint their decks and railing every year. Fiberon decks are splinter-free and are warrantied against staining and fading, providing a beautiful outdoor oasis for decades. This is what our $20,000 giveaway enables participants the opportunity to enjoy.”

To enter this giveaway contest, participants only need to upload videos of what they’re doing to celebrate National Enjoy Your Deck Day. With that information, many have asked questions about how to celebrate to win.

For inspiration in matters of barbecue events, pool parties, deck-side gardening, and accessories, participants can look to the Fiberon blog at While there, readers will be given ideas on how to make the most out of Enjoy Your Deck Day by doing the activities they love most.

In an effort to foster community amid builders, designers, homeowners, and outdoor enthusiasts, Fiberon will also launch a social media campaign to coincide with the Enjoy Your Deck Day event. Using the Twitter hashtag #DeckLove, participants will be able to share their unique outdoor living space visions with a wider audience.
