Robert Sanders, GM of Ovation Travel Group’s Meetings & Events, Elected President of the Greater NY Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPIGNY)
New York, New York (PRWEB) May 21, 2014 -- Ovation Travel Group’s Robert O. Sanders, Jr. has been elected president of the Greater New York Metro Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPIGNY). Prior to his new role, Robert served as Vice President of Membership for MPIGNY. As president-elect, Robert will serve on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors and play an active role in setting the strategy and vision for one of the ten largest MPI chapters in the world.
Robert has developed a distinguished career in the Meetings & Events industry with over 30 years experience in meeting and event planning, sales, marketing, training and operations. Prior to joining the Ovation team in 2010, he founded Hospitality Resource Group, a group of three vertically integrated companies (Event Solutions, Strategic Training Solutions and Allegis Communications) developing innovative training, marketing and event programs.
Robert is a former recipient of the American Red Cross Humanitarian Award and the Business Hall of Fame Award for the Business Council of Westchester. He graduated from the University of South Carolina-Columbia with a degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management.
